We are One Dance UK, the national support organisation working tirelessly to ensure a brighter future for dance. Our members span the entirety of the UK and the sector, and through us, get access to expert advice, promotional opportunities, networking opportunities, training, and resources specific to the dance world.
As a national support organisation One Dance UK:
- Promotes dance as a viable career pathway
- Provides up-to-date advice for those working in the dance sector
- Advances the diversity of dance across the UK
We stand together with our members in working for a dance world that is diverse, accessible, equitable and fair.
Our Purpose
One Dance UK promotes a stronger, more vibrant and diverse dance sector in the UK. We work towards excellence, equity and growth across all areas of dance, including access, education, dance science, dancer health and wellbeing, performance, production, and management, and ensure Government and policymakers hear our member's voices.
Our values
We are a charity dedicated to raising UK dance's profile, excellence, diversity and importance. These are the cornerstones of our constitution.
Health and Wellbeing
To advance the health and wellbeing of all those who dance.
Education
To advance the education of the public, teachers, students, young people, dance practitioners and professionals in the UK in dance including but not limited to; research, the promotion of dance with and for young people, Dance of the African Diaspora, promoting standards of excellence in the teaching of dance for all ages (with a focus on the school curriculum) and the promotion of specific forms of dance.
Promoting Dance and its diversity
To advance arts and culture for the benefit of the public by promoting all forms of dance. This includes the promotion of good practice, education and specific forms of dance including but not limited to the promotion of the work of dance artists of the African Diaspora in all its expressions.
Relief of poverty
To relieve poverty amongst dancers, dance artists, dance practitioners and their dependents.
In shaping our objectives for the year and planning our activities, the Trustees have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit, including the guidance ‘Public benefit: running a charity (PB2)’ and the Charity Governance Code. We rely on grants, fundraising, sponsorships, members’ fees and ticket sales to cover our operating costs.

Work with us
We are looking for a Community & Inclusion Manager to join the One Dance UK team and become an integral part of our Workforce Development team. The central purpose of this role is to connect and build relationship with our 2 primary communities: Children & Young People, and the Dance Workforce with a focus on individuals from a Global Majority background and those practicing culturally specific dance forms nationwide, connecting them to One Dance UK’s programmes and opportunities, and helping us champion their work.
