English Baccalaureate Update
Tuesday 12th February
On Thursday 7 February 2013 Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, announced that he is abandoning plans to introduce a new English Baccalaureate qualification in 2015. Consequently GCSE examinations will remain, although they are still subject to reform. Pressures from arts and cultural organisations are believed to have been an important factor in persuading Gove to reconsider his plans.
