Dance Links - Training
Develop your skills for working with schools
Dance Links: Training is for dance artists, practitioners and out of school dance providers who want to develop their skills delivering dance in schools within or beyond the curriculum.
This 2-day residential programme will help you develop your skills in delivering dance and costs just £75.00, including meals and accommodation
Dates and venues:
3rd and 4th September 2010 - Birmingham
10th & 11th September 2010 – Winchester
10th & 11th September 2010 – Manchester
Applications are now open for Dance Links 2010/11, a fantastic programme which aims to increase the amount of dance activity on offer to children and young people. The programme gives participants working in any dance style the chance to develop their skills and experience in delivering dance in schools, both with and beyond the curriculum.
The programme will cover:
• Principals of best practice in dance both in and out of schools
• High quality learning and teaching
• Identification of your strengths and professional development needs
• Contexts, practicalities and essentials of working in and out of schools
• Management of resources, time and behaviour

To be eligible for a place on Dance Links, you must be 21 years old or over and have some experience of delivering dance in schools, either within or beyond the curriculum.
You should also have at least one of the following:
- Degree in dance or dance and another subject
- Vocational training at a stage school or through a degree
- Certified course for working in schools and other community settings
- Links with regional and national dance agencies
- Registration with a private dance teaching association
