CPD & Events - Ignite! Annual Conference and AGM 2010

Saturday 20th November 2010

A practical day of dance to re-kindle the enthusiasm and passion that first inspired you. Come and get new ideas to take back into the studio for your classes but also come and dance for you. Whatever your age and experience explore new ideas, learn new techniques, network with other teachers and have some fun!

10.15am – Session One:

A – KS2/3 Ideas
Rachel Alexander, YDE School Dance Co-ordinator
Go away with THREE new ideas for using with your pupils

B – Working with boys
Zoie Golding, FuzzyLogic Male Youth Dance Company
Practical/theory session that will look at the ways boys learn, how to change their perception of dance and how to deal with challenging behaviour

C – Choreography – Developing motifs from ‘Still Life’ at the Penguin Café
Birmingham Royal Ballet
A session which relates to Unit 4a of the new GCSE specification

D – Choreography – developing creativity
Bettina Strickler, Dance Artist
Developing solo and group choreography from a stimulus. This session is particularly, but not exclusively, suitable for teachers of GCSE and A level

E – Professional Workshop
Ludus Dance Company
Linked to their new choreography Consequences by Nigel Charnock

  • Conference fee includes refreshments and lunch.
  • Fees are non-returnable for cancellations made after Friday 5th November 2010.
  • Cancellations made before 5th November are subject to an administration charge of £40.
  • You can apply for membership at the same time as booking for the conference and pay the members’ reduced rate.
