CPD & Events - An introduction to Inclusive Practice

This session will introduce teachers to the principles of inclusive work focusing on the fundamentals of teaching, strategies for adaptation and technique, use of language, inclusive environments and the social model of disability. It includes practical tools and advice on inclusivity in curriculum and examination classes and enable you to provide appropriate challenges and accessibility for all. Find out how to adapt choreographic and performance tasks to ensure full inclusion and how to adapt set studies and movement phrases for those with particular needs.
The session will:
- Challenge perceptions, and ideas of what best practice and inclusive teaching is really about
- Develop skills, communication and confidence in working with a diverse and varied class
- Inspire each other to ask new questions and explore new ways of working
- Nurture talent so that our students and colleagues have the best chance of achieving their creative potential.
